Who We Are
The Greater New Orleans Health Information Exchange (GNOHIE) was formed to connect care providers, care seekers and other healthcare stakeholders so that quality healthcare can flow across organizational boundaries.
As a not-for-profit organization, our sole purpose is to advance the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Triple Aim for the New Orleans community. We are working to:
- Improve the patient experience of care
(including quality and satisfaction)
- Improve the health of populations
- Reduce the per capita cost of healthcare
The GNOHIE was developed as part of the Crescent City Beacon Community. Since 2013, the management services and operations of the HIE have been the responsibility of The Partnership for Achieving Total Health (PATH), a 509(a)(3) supporting organization of the statewide nonprofit organization Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI). In addition, the GNOHIE collaborates with the Louisiana Health Information Exchange (LaHIE), an initiative of the Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum, to aggregate important community wide health data and facilitate disaster relief.
Who We Help
The GNOHIE membership comprises more than 50 healthcare service delivery sites consisting of primary care providers, school-based health centers, and hospitals within the coverage area of Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, and St. Charles Parishes.
