who we are
The Greater New Orleans Health Information Exchange (GNOHIE) is a community-governed health information technology infrastructure that facilitates the sharing of patient information across providers so they can deliver the best care possible.
The GNOHIE was developed as part of the Crescent City Beacon Community through a grant from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). Since 2013, the GNOHIE has been managed and operated by the Partnership for Achieving Total Health (PATH) – a 509(a)(3) supporting organization of the Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI). The GNOHIE network was cultivated out of a strong foundation of Federally Qualified Health Centers in the New Orleans area seeking to promote care coordination and access to primary care in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Over the years, it has grown from a local collective of clinics and hospitals to a regional network that spans the continuum of care and includes 33 health care and social service organizations.
